Verify Database Project

Description

After the project has been appropriately configured, it is time to build and deploy it to your sandbox server to ensure the project is ready to be used by developers. This step is crucial in uncovering configuration settings that have not been appropriately applied or missing pre-deployment or post-deployment scripts.

Steps

  1. Build Database Project:

    Build the database project.

    Review and fix any build errors identified.
  2. Deploy Database Project to Sandbox server:

    Deploy database project to a sandbox server.

    Check the output window for any errors. Also, ensure deployment is successful by browsing to the deployed database.

    If you imported the database schema from an existing live database, you can use the schema comparison tool to verify the deployment by comparing the deployed database to the initial source database.
