Description

Lifestyle snapshots are an optional step used in conjunction with personas. Lifestyle snapshots help flesh out the situational specifics for writing scenarios. A lifestyle snapshot is a description of a day or short period of time in the life of a persona. The description is concrete and omits the use of the proposed new product. The day in the life of the persona helps demonstrate how the new product adds value for the persona. Contextual understanding from a lifestyle snapshot helps assess the value each scenario adds and provides input for scenario prioritization.

Steps

  1. Create Prototypical Persona Day:

    For each persona, identify and describe one or more prototypical periods of time in the life of the persona.
  2. Identify Technology Opportunities:

    For each day in the life, identify opportunities where the product could be used to add value to help the persona better realize their potential and goals.

    Optionally, add a scenario entry to the scenario list for each new scenario. Publish the scenario list to the project portal. You can also discover scenarios during the Create a Scenario workstream.

    Optionally, add a quality of service requirement to the quality of service requirement list for each new quality of service requirement. Publish the quality of service requirement list to the project portal. You can also discover quality of service requirements during the Create a Quality of Service Requirement workstream.

    Publish the lifestyle snapshot for each persona to the project portal.
