Description

The project process defines process tracks with workstreams and activities. It does not define the details of expected deliverables at specific stages of the project. Define the details of the project milestones that will be used to track the project.

Steps

  1. Analyze Project Process:

    Analyze the project process to identify natural points in the process to establish milestones. Obvious milestones are the ends of tracks, but many other milestones could be defined and used to demonstrate the progress and health of the project.
  2. Identify Project Milestones:

    Identify the desired milestones throughout the project process life cycle.
  3. Define Project Milestones:

    Define the details of the identified project milestones, including what needs to be in place and in what state. Identify which reports and/or queries will be used to track the identified milestones.
