Create Database Project

Description

The first step is to create the database project from the appropriate database project template. Various database project settings should also be configured at this time as they control the behavior of the project going forward.

Steps

  1. Review Assigned Task:

    Review the task work item currently assigned to you.

    Understand the scope and requirements of the task.
  2. Create a New Database Project:

    Decide which database project type you want to create: SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005.

    Use the appropriate project wizard template to guide you through the creation of your database project.
  3. Configure Project Properties:

    Decide whether to organize your database project by object type or schema.

    Configure schema defaults to use for creating new objects and for unqualified objects references.
  4. Set Database Options:

    Configure database options, including appropriate SET options.

    Set the appropriate database collation settings.
